Dog Cake  ·  For a child's birthday, make a dog cake. This cake is advanced. Press a layer of Cake-Shaping Clay into the bottom of a bread pan. Shape the clay to look like the inverse of the dog. Remember the "top" of the cake while in the pan will be bottom of the dog. Spray the clay and pan with cooking spray, and pour cake batter to fill the dog-shaped indention. Bake until done, loosen the cake from the sides of the pan, and invert the pan. The ears are added on with icing using a basket-weaving tip. The fur is made by first applying a generous coat of icing on the cake and then pressing a fork into the icing and quickly pulling it up, away from the icing.
